ചിറ്റൂരിലും പരിസരത്തുമുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് പലയിടങ്ങളിലും എല് ഡി എഫിന് ഒരു സീറ്റ് പോലും ഇല്ലാത്ത പഞ്ചായത്തുകള് ഈ വരുന്ന പഞ്ചായത്ത് മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റി തെരെഞ്ഞടുപ്പോട് കൂടി നിലവില് വരുമെന്ന് ചിറ്റൂര് എം എല് എ, കെ.അച്യുതന് . സൂര്യ ടി.വി യുടെ വര്ത്തമാനം എന്ന പരിപ്പാടിയില് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്ന എം.എല്.എ. കഴിഞ്ഞ ലോകസഭാ ഇലക്ഷനില്, 25,000 വോട്ടില് അധികം ഭൂരിപക്ഷം യു. ഡി. എഫിന് നേടികൊടുത്ത 3 മന്ണ്ഡലങ്ങളില് ഒന്നാണ് ചിറ്റൂരെന്നും, ഈ വരുന്ന പ്രദേശിയ തെരെഞ്ഞുടുപ്പില് സ്ഥിതി അതിലും നന്നാവുമെന്നു അച്യുതന് പറഞ്ഞു.
ഈ അടുത്ത് നടന്ന മലപ്പുറം മദ്യ ദുരന്തത്തെ തനിക്കെതിരെയാക്കാന് സി.പി.എം ന്റെ പുതിയ പ്രാദേശിയ നേതാക്കള് ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണെന്നും, ചിറ്റൂര് തത്തമംഗലം പ്രദേശത്ത് യാതൊരു അടിത്തറയും ഇല്ലാത്ത അവര്ക്ക് കഴിയുകയില്ലെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
കോണ്ഗ്രസ്സിന്റെ തന്നെ ചില പ്രാദേശിയ നേതാക്കള് തനിക്കെതിരെ തിരിയാന് നോക്കുന്നു, പക്ഷെ പാര്ട്ടിയിലെ ഉന്നതരായ നേതാക്കള് തന്നിക്ക് പിന്തുണയായി സംസാരിച്ച കാരണം അവര് മിണ്ടാതെയിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
മുപ്പത്തഞ്ച് വര്ഷമായി നടത്തിവരുന്ന കള്ള് കച്ചവടം ഇനി മുതല് താനോ തന്റെ കുടുംബക്കാരോ തുടരില്ലെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്ന എം എല് എ, ചോദ്യകര്ത്താവിന്റെ ചോദ്യങ്ങള്ക്ക് സാമ്യാനം നന്നായി തന്നെ ഉത്തരം നല്കി.

വിഷകള്ള് ഉത്പാദിപ്പിച്ച് വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്നെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് ഡി.വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ പ്രവര്ത്തകര് , കെ അച്ചുതന്റെ വീട്ടിലെക്ക് നടത്തിയ മാര്ച്ച് പള്ളിമൊക്കില് വെച്ച് പോലീസ് തടഞ്ഞു. അതിന് ശേഷം രണ്ട് പക്ഷക്കാര് തമ്മില് തല്ലുകയും, പരസ്പരം കല്ലെറിയുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഡി.വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ പ്രവര്ത്തകര് മേട്ടുപാളയത്തെ ഒരു കള്ള് ഷോപ്പ് അടിച്ച് തകര്ത്ത് തീവെച്ചു.

ഈ തെരുവ് യുദ്ധത്തിനിടയില്പ്പെട്ട് സാദാരണ യാത്രക്കാര് മണിക്കൂറുകള് നടു റോഡില് കുടുങ്ങി. പക്ഷെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ജങ്ങള്ക്കും അറിയാം ഇത് തെരെഞ്ഞടുപ്പ് മുന്നില് കണ്ട്കൊണ്ട് നടുത്തുന്ന ഇരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ നാടകമാണെന്ന് .

An MLA in Kerala has decided to give up ”abkari” business, following an allegation against him and his family after the recent hooch tragedy at Malappuram.
”Though I was not involved in the abkari businees directly, I have asked my relatives to stop it immediately,” Congress MLA K Achuthan, representing Chittoor constituency in Palakkad District, told UNI here today.
”My brothers and relatives have been doing this business for the last 35 years and there were no complaints or incidents of serving illicit toddy in any of the shops, spread in Chittur and Kollangode in Palakkad District, owned by them,” he claimed.
Mr Achuthan said his family started the business about 35 years ago.
In the beginning they used to tap toddy from about 300 coconut palms owned by them and sold to customers, including to those in Ernakulam District and this continued for about ten years.

Snake rescued
1.25 meters long Viper snake was rescued by WPSI from Mr.Krishna kumar’s house at Panamkavu, near Pattancheri. The snake was found in an abandoned gobar gas tank of about 12 feet depth.
As soon as Mr.Guruvayurappan ( WPSI South India Project Co-ordinator ) got the information, he informed the local forest officials, but, they failed respond in a timely manner and the snake – trapped inside the tank for the last two days – was very weak.
Mr.Guruvayurappan acted promptely and he moved the snake successfully to a more friedly environment – at the banks of Sokanasini River – away from any residential areas.
The Viperidae are a family of venomous snakes found all over the world. This snake is a nightmare. Its venom kills in minutes.

It is based on the novel of the same name by Yu Hua. Having achieved international success with his previous films (Ju Dou and Raise the Red Lantern), director Zhang Yimou’s To Live came with high expectations. It is the first Chinese film that had its foreign distribution rights pre-sold.

Harishchandrachi Factory (Marathi : हरिश्चंद्राची फॅक्टरी, “Harishchandra’s Factory”) is a 2009 Marathi film, directed by theatre-veteran Paresh Mokashi, depicting the struggle of Dadasaheb Phalke in making Raja Harishchandra in 1913, India’s first feature film, thus the birth of Indian cinema..Harishchandrachi Factory is the directorial debut of Paresh Mokashi who won the Best Director award at Pune International Film Festival, where the film was shown. In September 2009, it was selected as India’s official entry to Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film Category, making it the second film, after Shwaas (2004), in Marathi cinema to receive this honour .

Ritu (“Seasons” in English) is a Malayalam language movie directed by national award-winning filmmaker Shyamaprasad. It will be a 2009 production for the director of much acclaimed film Ore Kadal. The film’s original screenplay is written by writer Joshua Newtonn. This is the first time Shyamaprasad has chosen to film an original screenplay.
